Large buildings have always been in high esteem for lovers of powerful computers. Full Tower type towers not only provide convenient assembly and good ventilation, but also do not hesitate to upgrade. Unfortunately, recently such models have been produced less and less. Over the past six months, only a couple of companies have stood out: Aerocool and Cooler Master. We will talk about the latter. On the tests Storm Trooper, which received the title of "Corps of the year-2011".

Muscles

Storm Trooper is a coal-black tower 60 high, 57 cm wide and weighing 15 kg. The main material is steel, however, the upper and part of the front panel are closed by rubberized material. A powerful handle for carrying is located on the roof. Immediately found my place and control unit with many additional ports. The center flaunts a huge inclusion key with red backlight, under it – three buttons responsible for the operation of the fans. "Reloading" is located on the right edge. For connecting the periphery, there are standard audio jacks, a couple of USB 2.0 and one esata. Additionally, two connectors with fast USB 3 are displayed on the front panel.0.

The front part of the Storm Trooper is equipped with nine 5.25-inch compartments closed with lattice plugs. Under the roof, there is a slot for a hot installation of 2.5-inch drives up to 10 mm high. At the base there is a special compartment for any small things like flash drives, wiring, small tools. To get to it, you need to unfasten the mirror plug and remove the installed box. The side covers of the case are perforated and decorated with a convex stamp, which not only increases the interior, but also enhances the structure.

The back side of Storm Trooper is standard. There are nine expansion compartments, three entrances for connecting a water cooling system, a ventilation grill for a 140-mm fan and a proprietary protection system StormGuard. The latter is a special bar with slots through which the wires of the periphery are passed. Fasten such with bolts from the inside of the body, and no one will drag your mouse. Useful if you carry a computer in e -sports competitions.

Cesam, open

To get to the insides of the case, just unscrew a couple of bolts with a large hat and pull the side covers on yourself. Inside, everything is painted black, the corners are neatly bent and polished. On the panel under the motherboard, many holes were cut out for laying wires behind the side cover. All holes are covered with rubber plugs, as for their hoses.

The power supply is proposed to be placed below, under it all the bottom of the case is allocated, closed by removable vacuumers. Two rubber tracks were laid for the bp to extinguish vibrations under the BP.

Three baskets are offered for hard drives in Storm Trooper. Two four compartments per 3.5 inches and one for the same number of 2.5-inch devices. To put the latter, you will have to get rid of the box for small things. As a result, Storm Trooper can take on board up to eight classic hard drives and dozen 2.5-inch. It is interesting that the standard large compartments look at you, but if desired, they can be expanded by 90 degrees so that the HDD is oriented inside the case.

As for the cooling system, the initially four turntables work in Storm Trooper. One-140 mm-stands on the back wall. The second-200-mm-settled on the top cover and covered with a long vacuumber. A couple of 120-mm fans found their place on compartments under HDD. If desired, the cooling system can be improved. On the bottom there are seats under two 120-mm steeps, two more compartments-on the left side cover. And finally, it is allowed to change the upper 200-mm turntable with two 120 mm "Carlson".

Military fees

We started the tests of the case with traditional assembly. As Cooler Master assures, the novelty can accommodate motherboards of any size, up to XL-TX. There were no such monsters at hand, and we adopted the standard ATX – Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R. The pallet under the motherboard in Storm Trooper is non -removable, so the assembly had to be carried out in the case. There is nothing wrong with this: they filled Storm Trooper on the side, screwed up the racks and secured the motherboard on them.

The next in line was the processor. Here no problem – stuck in a socket Intel Core i7-920 and covered it with a healthy tower Cooler Master V6. Note that the latter is attached through the bar on the back of the motherboard. For such cases, a large neckline is made on the pallet. There were no difficulties with RAM – two planks Kingston Hyperx DDR3-1666 MHz. As a video card, they chose a three -word ASUS HD 7970 Directcu II Top. I had to suffer with this monster. For the expansion compartments, plastic plugs are not thought out, and in order to hold the video card, I had to screw three bolts.

We put two pieces of hard drives. One is 2.5-inch Kingston SSDNOW – stuck in the "hot" compartment under the roof of the case. The second – classic HDD – put in the upper basket. Note that the latter was oriented across the corps, and in order to get to it, we removed the right side cover. By the way, for fastening the HDD itself, tools are not needed. The disk is laid in special sledges and slides into the compartment to the click. The power supply has completed our system Hiper K900. Everything is simple here. Put him on rubber slide and pulled to the back panel.

For the sake of interest, we tried to lay all the cables behind the pallet under the motherboard. It turned out to be easy to do. Rubber plugs on the holes perfectly hold the wires and allow the maximum unloading the main https://sister-site.org/slots-muse/ compartment.

Cold

The second part of the dough – froze the processor temperature inside the case and on the open stand. First, we launched a computer in standard assembly, when HDD baskets and fans installed on them stood across the case. The final result under load is 52 ° C. For comparison: at an open stand, the same system showed 55 ° C. For the completeness of tests, we changed the direction of the flows and put baskets with HDD along the case – minus 1 ° C.

It is customary to say about the Cooler Master Storm Trooper case that they are designed for enthusiasts who do not spare money for top video cards, large coolers and kilowatt power supplies. Our opinion: such a case is suitable for any system. Excellent cooling, high -quality assembly, the ability to control fans, a nice and at the same time discreet design, and, of course, a bunch of space for future upgrades. We are sure that this Full Tower will survive more than one generation of video cards and processors.

Pros:

a large number of external ports

Convenient assembly

Quality materials

Removable vacuumboards

Cons:

Light weight
